Dr. Michael Bilof
Dr. Bilof began his career as a vascular surgeon, a field in which he continuously saw chronically ill patients suffering from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and other medical problems often seen in bariatric patients. When he found out that bariatric surgery could reverse diabetes (getting patients off insulin and other diabetic medications) he knew he had found his calling. Seeing bariatric surgery as the ultimate preventative medicine, Dr. Bilof retrained in bariatrics in 2003, and in 2007 he founded Garden State Bariatrics.

Dr. Basil Yurcisin
Dr. Yurcisin is a seasoned bariatric and general surgeon, trained at Duke University Medical Center, one of the world’s top fellowship programs in bariatrics and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Yurcisin has performed hundreds of bariatric surgeries to date and is relentless when it comes to ensuring his patients get superior care. He is an integral member of the Garden State Bariatrics clinical team and a valuable resource for all patients – whether it is for bariatric counseling and support or a patient’s general surgery needs.
